Allure Williams: Field Hockey

Allure has tallied 1 goal and 1 assist and is the team captain for this year’s Field Hockey Team. Allure is the most energetic player on the team and has the most team spirit. She goes 100% in every practice and every game. She’s a great leader on and off the field.

Brooke Law: Cross Country

Brooke is the 2016 conference champion/ athlete of the year/ all-academic team. Brooke has been the front runner for the Lady Skyhawk’s all cross country season long. She is a freshman who is also in the engineering program. She is currently enrolled in all AP/ honor core classes.

Corbin Donaldson: Varsity Football

Running Back, CJ Donaldson, was recognized by the Progress Index as one of the outstanding performers in the Richmond area for his October 21st performance against George Wythe.  In that game, he rushed for 88 yards and 4 touchdowns.  He how has 62 carries, 692 yards and 14 touchdowns on the season.

Matthew Barge: Golf

As a rising Freshmen, Matthew became an instant leader on the golf team. He was able to shoot the lowest score on the team in more than half of the matches this year. Matthew is also a scholar athlete. Matthew took on the daunting task of joining Bird’s Engineering program, along with taking other Honors/AP level classes. Matthew looks to be a solid foundation for the golf team for the next 3 seasons!

Nalicia Tillman: Girls Varsity Volleyball

Nalicia is a 3 year volleyball player who leads by example.  As a captain, Nalicia shows what it means to live and breathe volleyball.  She has stepped up and played almost every position on the court over the past month, and she has done it with grace.  Nalicia totals 103 digs on the season, which makes her our defensive leader.  She is the most vocal support we have, but the noise doesn’t stop on the court.  Nalicia’s performance in class is stellar.  While continuing her athletic growth, she also balances AP and Honors courses in her efforts to pursue an advanced diploma.   Nalicia is an outstanding candidate to represent L.C. Bird athletics for the month of October.

Selena Miller: Varsity Cheerleader

Selena Miller is a junior on the LC Bird Varsity Cheerleading Squad. This is her second year on varsity. Selena is hardworking and dedicated to cheering. She has shown true leadership skills over this season. Selena was also part of the competition squad. On the competition squad, she demonstrated just how much she loved cheering by striving to give her all in every practice and on the day of performance. She exemplifies the Skyhawk pride on the field and in the classroom.

Stephen Piper: Boys Varsity Volleyball

Stephen has played a tremendous role on our team as an outside hitter with his play improving each years he’s been with the program. He has stepped up to the challenge this senior season at Bird and has shown improvement in the final month before playoffs while overcoming injuries. In October Stephen recorded 52 kills (7.4/game), 46 digs (6.5/game), 27 assists in a match, 11 aces, and 2 blocks. His persistence and scrappiness keeps us motivated through tough matches as we look to surprise everyone in the playoffs.
