VOTE: LC Bird’s Student-Athlete of the Month for February

Below is a list of our Student-Athlete’s outstanding accomplishments during the month of February.  Please vote below for the candidate who you feel is most deserving as  LC Bird Student-Athlete of the Month.  Deadline to vote is midnight on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

Mya Coleman: Girls Basketball

Sophomore Mya Coleman, is a point guard averaging 10 points a game. During her State Tournament appearance Mya averaged 20 points a game and 8 rebounds. She is also the MVP during postseason play.

Cam Henry: Boys Basketball

Cam Henry, a senior, has averaged 19.5 points/game, 3 assists/game, and 7 rebounds/game. He is also 1st team All Conference and All Region.

Max Barnett: Wrestling

Max Barnett, sophomore, is a 2 year wrestler on the team. He’s a great student athlete who finished 3rd at conference tournament this year. He is a model student athlete on and off the mat and is L.C Bird wrestler of the month.
Aaron Lewis: Boys Indoor Track

Junior Aaron Lewis, is an outstanding athlete. Not only does he lead his team effortlessly but he competes with so much drive. His work ethic earned him All State Honors at the 2017 5A Indoor Track and Field Championships. Placing 3rd in the 300 Meter Dash and 7th in the 500 Meter Dash. He is also a wonderful student excelling in the Engineering Program here at Bird.

L’nay Carpenter: Girls Indoor Track

During the month of February L’nya Carpenter, a freshman, has continued to lead the Lady Skyhawks on the track. This humble young lady competed at the 5A State Indoor Championships placing 3rd in the Triple Jump and 6th in the 500 Meter Dash. She is now an All State Athlete in both events.
Colby Mills: Swim
Sophomore, Colby Mills is a second year swimmer for Bird and is one of the teams biggest point contributors.  Colby works very hard to represent Bird with the best sportsmanship qualities and is always gracious.  His positive attitude and willingness to swim whatever is asked of him are both additional reasons why Colby is honored.  At County Champs, Colby was a strong member of both the 200 free and 200 medley relays.  In his individual events, Colby placed second in both 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.

Raiya Hicks: Winter Cheer

Raiya Hicks, is an outstanding athlete! She has an amazing personality and always gives 110% when cheering on the sideline and during half time performances.
